Call for papers 'Covenant'

19 Mei 2016

The research group ‘Biblical Exegesis and Systematic Theology’ from the Theological University Apeldoorn and the Theological University Kampen organises a conference on the theme ‘Covenant’.

This conference will be held on the 30th and 31st of March 2017 in the Theological University Apeldoorn, Wilhelminapark 4 in Apeldoorn. Short papers (20 minutes + 10 minutes of discussion) are welcome.

The central topic of this conference will be the doctrine of the covenant in the 21st century as seen against the biblical background of newer research on berit and diathèkè, and the historical background of the reformed doctrine of the covenant. Both biblical scholars and systematic theologians will contribute to the conference. Although the BEST-group works from a reformed perspective, we welcome short papers from other perspectives.

Please submit your proposal (maximum 150 words) before the 1st of February 2017 to the secretary of the research group, dr. J.M. (Hans) Burger. You can also contact him for more information.

English will be the language spoken at the conference. Publication of short papers in the congress volume is possible. The language of this book will also be English. Prof. dr. Georg Plasger (professor or Systematic and Ecumenical Theology, Universität Siegen, Duitsland) and prof. dr. Gordon McConville (professor of Old Testament, University of Gloucestershire, Great Britain), have accepted to write an article for this volume, in which they will reflect on the other contributions.
