Dr C.C. den Hertog appointed as a lecturer/researcher in Public Theology at the TUA

From 1 April 2023, Dr C.C. den Hertog will be appointed at the Theological University Apeldoorn (TUA) as lecturer/researcher of systematic theology/ethics of social and cultural affairs.

Dr Den Hertog, who currently has a 0.3 FTE appointment at this university as lecturer in systematic theology and is also a pastor at CGKV Nijmegen, will be working full-time for TUA. In his teaching and research tasks, he will primarily focus on further reflection from systematic theology/ethics on social and cultural affairs and how theology can be meaningful for society as a whole (Public Theology). Within this field, he will particularly focus on the question of how theology can enter into dialogue with society and the social challenges it faces.

TUA is very pleased with this appointment, as it fulfils a long-held desire to give more attention to the reflection on how theology can be meaningful to the society.
