Short cv

Douwe Jacob Steensma was born in Drachten on 22 February 1958. After his studies at the pedagogical academy, he studied theology in Apeldoorn from 1979 to 1984. In 1986 he became a pastor of the Christian Reformed Church in Feanwâlden. After his doctoral II exam, with ethics as his main discipline (1988), he obtained his PhD at the TUA in 1995 on the thesis Parents and children. A theological-ethical reflection. From 1996-2002 he was university lecturer in ethics at TUA. He was reappointed to this position on 1 January 2017.
