TUA establishes a new chair in 'Theology and Music'

As of 1 September 2021, the Theological University of Apeldoorn will launch a new chair in 'Theology and Music'. The chair will be held by Professor Albert Clement, who will fulfil this function together with his professorship in Musicology at Utrecht University, in which context he works at the University College Roosevelt. The chair's task is to provide interdisciplinary education and research in the area of the relationship between theology and music. This theme includes both church music from the Western world and spiritual music in general. The period covered in teaching and research extends back to the early Middle Ages. An emphasis lies on themes arising from the theology of the Reformation, including organ culture, hymnology and expressions of faith by composers. 

Chair of Christian Pedagogy from Driestar to TUA

In 2016, the Executive Board of Driestar Educatief (DE) established a Chair of Christian Pedagogy and placed it as an endowed chair at Theological University of Apeldoorn (TUA). As of 1 September 2021, this will become a regular chair at TUA.

We kindly invite you to the biannual academic conference, organised by the Theological University Apeldoorn and the Theological University Kampen. This conference was meant to be held in the summer of 2020, but was postponed because of the pandemic. The conference will be held online and is entitled ‘Brokenness, sin and grace in human formation’.
